Lauren was raised on Long Island, New York. She attended Oceanside High School, where she developed her interests and began to consider her future career. After high school, Lauren pursued her higher education at Nassau Community College, a step that provided her with the knowledge and skills needed to embark on her professional journey as a Dental Assistant.
Working as a Dental Assistant, it allows her to interact with patients, assist in various dental procedures, use dental X-ray machines to ensure high quality diagnostic images, and ensure that the office runs smoothly. Lauren loves helping people through her job and finding satisfaction in making a positive impact on patients oral health and well-being. Working closely with Dr. Maria Hiruma to enhance the patients confidence and witnessing positive changes in their smiles is very rewarding. In addition, Lauren works as a Surgical Assistant in our office assisting Dr. Kevin Chen in procedures such as extractions, dental implants, gum grafts, osseous surgery and more. Her dual roles allow her to enhance her skills and broaden her impact on allowing her to care for patients in different ways. She has also learned how to use the iTero Scanner to scan crowns, bridges, implants, invisalign patients, retainers and many more. Lauren has also learned how to 3D print nightguards, retainers and models. In addition to clinical work, Lauren is our marketing strategist. She creates engaging aesthetically pleasing content for Instagram and Tiktok showcasing our office, dental facts and behind the scenes of dentistry offering a glimpse of daily operations and unique aspects to working as an assistant in our practice.
Outside of her professional life, Lauren enjoys a variety of hobbies such as Gardening, Crocheting, Camping, and Gaming. She also enjoys spending time with her family, friends and boyfriend. She loves going on walks around her neighborhood, finding it very calming and taking polaroid photos to remember each moment with friends. These hobbies allow her to find balance and joy in her daily routine, offering both relaxation and creative outlets. Lauren loves fashion, traveling to different countries, learning new recipes and going to music festivals. She enjoys expressing her creativity through her personal style, experiencing different cuisines and exploring new landmarks. Whether it is spending quality time with loved ones or engaging in her hobbies, Lauren finds a well-rounded approach to personal and professional satisfaction combining the calming, creative, and stimulating aspects of her interests.
Looking ahead, working in the healthcare field and seeing first hand the positive impact she can have on patients’ lives is very rewarding for her. Each day brings new experiences and challenges professionally and personally. Lauren is excited about her future in dentistry and the opportunities it holds. She adores working alongside her coworkers as they encourage her to learn new skills for her to achieve in and out of work. Her diverse interests add depth and joy to her life providing a perfect balance. She is confident that her dedication and love for her work will guide her towards achieving her dreams and make a positive difference in patients’ lives.
